Akai DD8 Timecode Chase Set Up

To set up a DD8 for timecode chase you will:
      A) Set sample rate and clock source
      B) Set timecode rate and timecode display
      C) Set machine to 'Play' mode
      D) Set machine to chase
      E) Set varispeed rate if needed
      F) Set remote control and RS422 options if needed



ENTER SYSTEM MENU by pressing "System" button on front panel.

A) Set sample rate and clock source: Under "DIGI" menu, you will find sample rate and clock source. Select the parameter you wish to modify, use +/- keys to adjust. Press "EXIT" when done

B) Set timecode rate and timecode display: Under SYNC menu you will find timecode rate settings. Select proper settings. Under DISPLAY menu you will find timecode display settings. Set to same rate as timecode setting.

EXIT SYSTEM MENU by pressing "System" button.

C) Set DD8 in play mode by pressing PLAY button located near track arm keys.

D) Send timecode to DD8, press SYNC button located near track arm keys when you want machine to chase.

E) If varispeed is desired, those options will be found under the "SPEED" menu.

F) If remote control and/or RS422 control is desired, From system menu, hit MORE button. Under REMOTE you will find options for Akai's Aknet and RS422 options. For stand alone timecode chase be certain to set RS422 to "off".

Additionally, you can set refenrence levels under the "LEVELS" menu.
