MMR8 Playback Timecode Chase Quick Set Up



Selecting menu items:
To access menu items
  • Press the SETUP button.
  • Scroll through selections with the jog wheel.
  • To change menu item parameters, press the TRIM button, and scroll through the selections with the jog wheel.
  • When desired selection is displayed press STO button.
  • An asterisk in front of a parameter indicates the current selection.

    Set Up:
    Single machine:
  • Set to timecode chase (menu 000)
  • Select desired clock source (menu 002)
  • Select desired timecode frame rate (menu 003).
  • Proceed to OPEN PROJECT.

    Set Up:
    Multiple Machines:
  • Connect sync cables on back of machines, daisy chaining all machines through 'sync in' and 'sync out' ports.
  • Set master machine to timecode chase (menu 000)
  • Select desired timecode frame rate (menu 003)
  • Set machine as MMR master (menu 110).
  • Assign ID number (menu 111), probably number 1 for master machine.
  • Set all other machines as MMR slaves (menu 110), and assign ID numbers (menu 111). Do not duplicate ID numbers within the chain.
  • Set control to local/MMR (menu 000), frame reference (menu 001) to automatic, and sample reference (menu 002) to automatic on all slave machines.

    Open project/load tracks:
  • Be certain that the drive is mounted. Mount drive by pressing the STOP transport key.
  • To load an entire project, press LOAD TRACK button, scroll to desired project using jog wheel, press STO button.
  • To load individual tracks, press LOAD TRACK button twice, scroll through available tracks, press STO to load desired track. Repeat until all desired tracks are loaded.
  • Press LOAD TRACK button again to return to normal display.

    And they're off!
    To put machines into chase, press ON LINE button.

    ALWAYS UNMOUNT A DRIVE AND ALLOW SEVERAL SECONDS FOR DRIVE TO SPIN DOWN BEFORE REMOVING IT!
